AWIM is a teacher-administered, industry volunteer-assisted program that brings science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education to life in the classroom (grades K – 8).
In 2018, we kickstarted a new initiative for our organization in the form of the A World In Motion (AWIM) Learn Twice program, facilitated by SAE International. AWIM gives our student members the opportunity to give back to local communities while also benefiting our organization and engaging our membership.
Through AWIM, UMSAE members mentor and instruct primary school students in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) programs involving hands-on learning experiences. Our ambitions for 2019 include expanding the program to include more instructional sessions and reaching more schools and age groups.
